Sarah Hinds and Sky Campbell

Glass

Artist Biography

Sky and Sarah are a couple brought together by their love of glass. Sky comes from North Carolina and Sarah, from Montgomery, Alabama. Over the years, Sarah and Sky developed their skills in lampworking (the art of manipulating glass behind a bench mounted torch) through public demonstrations and educational workshops. They traveled the country blowing glass in their art bus affectionately called "SOMEWHERE" creating beautiful things. Along the way, Lily Windsong Campbell was born, the glowing light of their lives. After lampworking for a few years, the couple wanted to make larger, free flowing vessels. They began to explore the world of hot glass (where glass is kept in a molten state and drawn out with steel pipes), by taking a class at Jacksonville University. They also encountered a retiring glassblower from Cedar Key & purchased some of his equipment to put together their own "hot shop" in July 1999.
