After a 15 year absence, award winning artist, Miriam Novack has returned to Gainesville. She is a graduate of Brooklyn College with a B.A., Cum Laude, with honors in art. Miriam turned to painting as a temporary creative outlet when Hurricane Andrew destroyed her sculpture studio. What had started out as an interim activity, has become a primary passion. It has been a wonderful challenge, for her, working in a different medium and yet incorporating many of the same design elements used in her sculptures. With the increasing demand and interest for her acrylic paintings, Miriam has made available signed, matted laser prints of many of her works. She also uses many ceramic forms as “canvases” for her acrylic paintings. Miriam strives to create a celebration of colors, patterns and textures to evoke a joyous response in the viewer.
