Artisans' Guild Gallery

I've been making baskets for years and first taught basket making as a craft counselor at summer camp during college. A hand weaver for many years and a hiker, I like to add interesting yarn, beads, fiber and various plant materials to my baskets. North Florida, with its native long leaf pine trees is a good locale for someone making coiled baskets in the old pine needle tradition. More recently I've been experimenting with palmetto fiber and strips of palmetto using these as overlays on top of coiled rows or as basket bases.
