Peter SenesacJewelryArtist BiographyI have been making jewelry in Gainesville since 1978. Primarily self-taught, I work mostly with gold and silver, but use bronze, brass and copper in many pieces. A variety of techniques are used: casting, forging, fusing, roller embossing, etching and laminating. I developed a marriage of metals process that results in a crazy quilt pattern of bronze, brass, copper and silver. I use this to make earrings, bracelets, pins and pendants. I strive for an elegance that speaks for the individual, yet retains a timeless quality. Nature and landscape inspire many of my designs; others are based on the juxtaposition of geometric shapes. Art Nouveau and Art Deco are my strongest historical influences. Balance and movement are also important in my pieces, both visually and mechanically. Stones, colored metals and rich textures add visual interest as well. I sell my work through many shops and galleries across the country and at selected craft shows and juried art fairs throughout the South and Mid-west. |
