Artist Statement

I love to create books of metal, wood, leather, and found objects whenever possible. I enjoy experimenting in Alter Arts (books) and incorporating my own paste and handmade papers into my books. Learning new binding techniques is also something I enjoy.

Artist Biography

Ronnie was born in New York City but has lived in Florida all her adult life. She has lived in Gainesville since 1978 when she entered dental school at the University of Florida.

Ronnie started making journals and books when she became friends with Roben-Marie Smith, a mixed media artist. She continued her education in this area by studying with other book artists. Ronnie especially likes Daniel Essig, an award winning book artist from Asheville, North Carolina. She has also studied with Christine Cox of Volcano Arts, California.
