Sheila Andrews grew up with a father who was a painter and sometime a photographer. She learned "to see" from him. After taking pictures for years she took several classes in community education, college level courses, and workshops. Sheila fell in love with photography and the darkroom. She is fascinated by light and tries to photograph it ("painting with light") no matter what the subject. She also loves the idea of capturing "a moment in time" and trying to give her work a sense of poignancy or personal meaning for the viewer. After retiring from teaching preschool for 20 years she started teaching darkroom printing classes for the community education program. Originally from Canada she has been married to Sam for 40 years has two married sons and wonderful grandchildren.
