Artist Biography
Sharon grew up in Key West, Florida and has lived in Gainesville for over 25 years. Married for 35 plus years to Stephen, she has three grown children who have inspired her all along the way to create fun and useful items. She has been making art and crafts all her life. Mostly self-taught she likes to challenge herself to work with any media she can to make eclectic works of art. She specializes in projects made of stained glass using the Tiffany method of copper foiling and in making colorful mosaics using bits of stained glass glued to clear glass and then grouted. She also makes whimsical origami note cards, cement stepping stones, Christmas earrings, and original figures made of wire and beads that she calls her “Tropical Ladies”. Along with the Guild, Sharon’s work can be found in shops in St. Augustine and High Springs.
