Artist Biography:In 2005, after leaving the cooperate training (BS in information systems), and elementary teaching world, I found Mother Earth’s unique designs of semi-precious stones drawing me in to create a setting to adorn its beauty. Using either Argentium Sterling Silver or 14K gold-filled square wires provide the medium by being meticulously aligned and intricately held together by half-round wire. Styles vary as satin smooth wires provide a more conservative look and twisted wires a more Victorian look. To add more precision, I twist paired wires in the opposite directions creating a chevron pattern. Those wire ends become my artist’s palate for creating whatever spirit directs. The results complement the beauty of the stone along with delighting and enhancing the beauty of the wearer.
As a hobby, Lynda created beaded jewelry for 20 years before starting wire-sculpture. Being a rock enthusiast provided incentive to learn more about Mother Nature’s creations. She has hundreds of hours of classes, DVD study, on-line training and workshops. Lynda has been commended for the quality and beauty of her work both from on-line professionals and by master jewelers. Her mentor is Dale “Cougar” Armstrong, internationally known artist, writer, trainer and Jewelry TV star. Her art can also be seen in Floral City, Ocala, Greenville (SC), and Paoli (PA). Besides creating elegant necklace-earring sets, bracelets, rings and earrings, Lynda teaches basic wire sculpture classes.
Lynda also creates origami ornaments, necklaces and earrings.
