Artist Biography:My vision begins with a deep appreciation of the architectural richness and the natural beauty of North Florida and beyond. My goal is to bring a new awareness of the historic architectural details and the lush landscape that surrounds us to the viewer.
I have always been passionate about every aspect of design. Initially I studied architecture at the University of Florida, and ultimately graduated with a Bachelor of Design degree in Interior Design. After this, I went to Preservation Institute: Nantucket, where I studied historic preservation, textile design, and photography. I then attended graduate school at Rhode Island School of Design, where I completed a Master of Arts in Art Education degree with a specialty in Textile Design. I have also studied with many watercolor and oil painters.
Artist Statement: My watercolor paintings include a wide variety of subjects such as landscape, still life, tropical plant life, and architecture. I particularly enjoy painting the light, shadows, and patterns found in regional architecture. The hope is to crystallize these moments in a painting that will offer the viewer a chance to absorb the positive energy that this light can provide.
