Artist Biography: I am mostly self-taught but have learned much from courses taught by several other Artisans Guild members, such as Peter Senesac and Sandra Matasick.
Artist Statement: Years ago, upon opening the back of an antique pocket watch, I was amazed by the beauty and intricate workmanship contained in it. I realized that the only persons who were able to appreciate that beauty were the watchmakers who worked on them. I decided to bring that beauty to everyone in the form of jewelry. When creating the pieces I am influenced by the shapes and engravings on the watch parts. I embellish them with gems, semiprecious stones, gold and sterling silver. All brass parts have an anti-tarnish coating. Joints, whenever possible are soldered or mechanically fastened (screwed, etc.). I hope you enjoy them. I also make sterling silver jewelry containing beautiful semiprecious stone cabochons.
