Artist Biography: In the late 1990's, I began to experiment with melting silver and attempting to make jewelry with my "concoctions". Around that time I also began to have a fascination with gem rough, and taught my self how to cut and shape stones, though quite primatively. In the following few years, I began reading about jewelry making and eventually took a one day class on bezel making and setting stones. It was a major stepping stone for me. As the years went by, I began to make jewelry for friends and family and eventually began to even sell a piece or two.
During those early years, I also began to "hang out" with some amazingly skilled jeweler artists locally, like Dick Beardsley who taught me a great deal. In 2009, I formally began Out of Creation Jewelry as a business. I have been selling my work locally and on the internet for over five years. In 2011, I attended a week long course in advanced silver-smithing which further enhanced my abilities. In all, as a new member of the Artisan's Guild, I hope to contribute as well as learn more about the field I have come to love.
