Art Education: St Peterburg College Graduate 1973-1975 minor studies in Ceramics (course work Ceramics I, II, and III, design, and art history.
Art Pottery maker since 1975 involved in local hand craft movement in the 1970’s. I participated in local art fairs, small galleries and community art events, selling hand-made functional art pottery in St Petersburg, Clearwater and surrounding area until 1984. At that time, I moved to North Florida, established a home pottery studio, and continued to sell at craft fairs, art shows and small galleries in the area. In 2000 I took a hiatus from my studio pottery work to open a Rural Health Center serving a poor rural community as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Midwife near Gainesville. In 2011 while continuing my medical practice I reopened my studio pottery and began again to make functional art pottery and sculpture again.
Ceramic Teaching Experience: 1985-1995 and currently teaching children’s pottery hand-building classes. 2015-2022 Adult beginner and intermediate wheel throwing, hand building, glazing and decorative pottery techniques. Classes at private studio, community classes and Mossman Hall Art Gallery. I continue to teach hand-building and wheel techniques at my studio currently.
