JoAnn started fusing glass when a lamp work class was cancelled, and a fusing class was available. What started out as an obsession with glass, has become her passion. She has been designing jewelry for many years. She incorporates her glass pieces with her silver smithing, wire wrapping and beading abilities to create each piece of jewelry for the unique one of a kind appeal. She is currently using more copper in her pieces and is starting to make beads with her fusing glass to compliment the colors of her designs. JoAnn does not limit herself to making jewelry, she also makes sun catchers, mezuzahs and does reverse painting on plates using glass enamels. She also recycles glass bottles by making jewelry, clocks, cheese trays and bird feeders. Her moto is “One less thing for the landfill and make it functional”. JoAnn has taught glass fusing at Beads of Avalon in Gainesville. She taught at the Great Bead Escape in Orlando. She enjoys sharing her knowledge of fusing with the students and is always amazed at the creativity and determination of the students to learn the art of glass fusing. JoAnn is also a member of the Gainesville Fine Arts Association and is a member of the Gainesville Artisans’ Guild
