AUGUST 17, 2016
Dear AGG Members, As Jeanne makes her way home, I think a few of us had no idea how much she does to keep things going. Thank you to Candace and Jacqui for staying on top of things. As slow as some of our days seem, particularly when I am working, we are having a good summer. Last month was really good. So far this month we have done $5500 as of August 16 and last year this month's total was $6100. Sounds good! Maybe the parking spaces are working, hard to say as yet. I am asking once again. If you work the pm shift, one of your assignments is to call the next day's shift people. This is a must, and only about half of the next day people are being called. We have a Guest Artist. Her name is Allison LeBaron and she has large canvas pieces, pottery, and lovely leather journals. We welcome Allison. It will be nice to see Hannelore this weekend! We say a teary good-bye to Linda Doucette. Thanks, Marilyn

Dear Artisans' Guild Gallery Members,
Pardon me for using Jeanne's previous email to us all. I know Jeanne is having a great time out in New Mexico and Arizona with her daughter. May she return rested and rejuvenated.
Vicki from Sun Center says our signs are in for the parking places, so hopefully they will be up this week. Many people do park in our spaces who do not come in, but we are not to confront anyone. I think the new signs will make our desgination more visible.
Please read the Day Book in the drawer. Many times there is new information.
Ladders and artwork: this is for the newest members. We no long have what we called "Art on High," where someone had to come in to get it down. We are expected to try to get the artwork down if a customer wants to buy it. There are various ladders in the store. Shorter ones are in the closet in the bathroom area. There are a couple larger areas in the little closet behind Abby's quilt on the back wall downstairs. Display is asking that you get the piece down if at all possible. Another point: this is your gallery. This is a co-op and we all need to be participating owners. Check drawers and closets. Get to know where everything is. And get to know everyone else's art and who they are.
CALLING: Those on the afternoon shift MUST call the next day's workers. This week alone there were three days that I know of, because I was one, where the night before artist did not make a remind call. Many people switch shifts around and might forget when to come in. It is not fun to get the call that the Gallery is closed.
Art Walk is the last Friday of each month with Nov/Dec being an exception. There are a few dedicated members who come by to help. Please come by, or bring goodies, or leave $5 in Carmen's folder. I do sense a great spirit of cooperation, especially on those nights. You don't have to do the desk.
We sadly say good-bye to two dedicated members. We wish there were some way to keep them here with us: Linda Doucette and Karen LeMonnier
Extremely positive note: We may be close to $9000 for this month! Wow! Nancy Gildersleeve had a $700 morning on Friday! The highest day she has every had. Thanks to all and the publicity crew. Keep handing out those Red Dot sale cards. The sale continues in to August. And kids and parents are coming back in to town.
